Archäologisches Museum Gunzenhausen (Archaeological Museum Gunzenhausen)
The Archaeological Museum in the historic Faulstich House (18th century) sends visitors on a journey through five millennia of cultural and settlement history. It starts with finds from Neolithic villages in the Altmühl valley, the Stockheim bronze treasure (ca. 1200 BC) or objects from barrows of the Hallstatt period (800-480 BC). The Roman era is represented by finds from the forts of Gunzenhausen, Gnotzheim, Munningen and Theilenhofen as well as various watchtowers along the Limes. The exhibition concludes with the staging of an early medieval row grave cemetery with the rich grave goods from Westheim.
