They lie there as if asleep, hand in hand, heads resting on pillows ... The scene is so peaceful that one almost wants to forget that the five men died a violent death. However, the weapons that have been added reveal that this is a warrior's grave, or more precisely: a reconstruction of a burial from the time around 700 AD, which was discovered during the construction of the Munich-Nuremberg ICE railway line.In general, people are the focus of the Archaeology Museum. In addition to spectacular finds from the archaeological excavations near Großhöbing and from the town of Greding, visitors repeatedly encounter the inhabitants of the area who shaped the landscape over the past millennia. Some of them have been given back their faces through scientifically based reconstruction. The hardships of their everyday lives, illnesses and the circumstances of their deaths could be read from their bones. Their stories are told, transitions can be experienced from room to room, from epoch to epoch, from the Ice Age to the High Middle Ages.
