Apothekenmuseum Weißenburg (Weissenburg Pharmacy Museum)
A steep staircase leads down into the realm of pots and pans, mortars and scales. In the former pharmacy cellar beneath the modern pharmacy, the pharmacy and laboratory from the time of pharmacist and Limes researcher Wilhelm Kohl (1848-1898) await visitors. Strange equipment such as suppository moulds, tincture presses and boiling squares provide an insight into the art of the "pill maker", and a herb chamber explains where the mysterious ingredients come from. Original recipes from the time show that things were sometimes simpler: "Mr Gustav Weisel, Plättner, is in need of wine in the near future due to his lung disease. Rp: 1 bottle of Marsala".
