Altes Schloss Schleißheim - "Es war ein Land ..."- Sammlung zur Landeskunde Ost- und Westpreußens (Altes Schloss Schleißheim - "Es war ein Land ..."- Collection on the regional studies of East and West Prus
Under the motto "Es war ein Land ..." (There was a land ...), the title of a poem by the Königsberg writer Agnes Miegel, around 400 objects trace the development of the East and West Prussian cultural landscapes, from colonisation by the Teutonic Order to flight and expulsion in 1945. A section is dedicated to amber processing as a typical regional craft, as well as to the products of Wilhelm II's royal majolica and terracotta workshops in Cadinen (1904-1944) and works by East Prussian artists such as Ernst Wichert, Max Halbe, Agnes Miegel, Lovis Corinth and Eduard Bischoff.
