The Allgäuer Burgenmuseum (Allgäu Castle Museum) shows that castles were much more than military installations. Under the motto "Living and Household in the Allgäu Castles", replicas in particular give an impression of the good rooms of the Allgäu noble families through the ages. Numerous "time windows" and models tell of the development of the castles from the 12th century to the present day. And even if everyday life in the castle was more like life on an estate, weapons and pieces of armour are of course not missing.
