The Volkskundliche Sammlung (Folklore collection) in Partenstein offers not only "old stuff" but a journey into the region's past. On three floors of the former schoolhouse from 1894, the exhibits reflect everyday rural life, living culture around 1900 and the industrial beginnings of the Spessart community, including the mining of barite. A separate area is dedicated to Partenstein Castle, which was destroyed in the 17th century.3 km of "European cultural trail" leads from the museum to the former mining area.
