SCULPTURES.
Contemporary artists at Ara Kunst
21.07.2024 - 31.10.2024 ,
WeltKunstMuseum Schloss Altrandsberg (WorldArtMuseum Altrandsberg Castle)
The exhibition "Sculptures. Contemporary Artists at Ara Kunst", works by Miguel Berrocal (Spain), Corneille (Belgium), Falko Hamm (Germany), Ernst Leonhardt (Germany), Gustav Mayer (Germany), Christian Peschke (Germany) and Gábor Török (Hungary) can be seen.
The seven sculptors are represented at Altrandsberg Castle with figurative, concrete and abstract works.
For example, "Under the Umbrella" by Ernst Leonhardt depicts a heart-warming scene in our modern and hectic world. Occasionally you can still see him, the man holding the woman's umbrella and obligingly making sure that she feels safe with him. The two look at each other, creating an image of intimate togetherness as they walk in step.
Immersed in his reading, the seated man, the "newspaper reader", takes the viewer into an almost archaic silence. A contrast to the noisy world of today. He radiates a cosiness that is hard to resist when looking at him.
"Don Carlos" by Miguel Berrocal is a dismountable sculpture consisting of three elements, which shows the torso as a symbol of generative vitality and artistic creativity.
The exhibition is accompanied by the catalogue "Skulpturen. Contemporary Artists at Ara Kunst" has been published to accompany the exhibition. The price is 10 euros. All proceeds from the sale of the catalogue will be passed on to the "Cham Children's Cancer Self-Help Group" founded by Dr Stephanie Franke.
The museum is always open on Sundays and public holidays from 2 pm to 5 pm, admission €2.00.
Enquiries for visits to the special exhibition outside opening hours should be sent to info@arakunst.de.
