The exhibition shows a selection of objects that have been donated to the Pilgrimage Museum in recent years, interesting individual pieces, family treasures or private collections. In particular, it presents objects from the wide-ranging field of popular piety and things associated with the traditional Bavarian place of pilgrimage in the Hohenbogen-Winkel. The potpourri ranges from objects from past childhood or wedding days to the history of local tourism. Most of the objects date from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. The previous owners are from Neukirchen b. Hl. Blut or feel a connection to the town, region and museum.
The most valuable objects for the museum are historical artefacts that have something to tell. These do not always have to be precious antiques. Even a worn object with traces of intensive use can tell an interesting story. Sometimes this story only becomes recognisable when you look behind the pretty exterior.
Object histories are important so that future generations can vividly understand what life was like in the past. The museum's mission is to preserve, research and document traces and stories of historical everyday life in an exemplary manner and to present these testimonies of the past from time to time.
