Rainer Metzger has his studio in the old locksmith's shop of the former Poschinger glassworks in Frauenau. In his paintings, atmospherically dense depictions of milieus, quiet city scenes or light-flooded landscapes, where you can often literally feel the sun, he captures moments, moments that are often the beginning of a story. It is up to the viewer to continue this story.
In his works in glass, using the Graal technique, the image is enclosed in the glass, the moment is preserved. It is a panoramic painting, without beginning or end.
"His paintings give their viewers room to manoeuvre, challenging them to explore what is "in the air" (N. Kalthoff) based on their own experiences and associations

The Frauenau artist's works will be on display at the St. Oswald Forest History Museum from 17 April to 15 September 2025.

Tuesday to Sunday 9 am - 5 pm, closed on Mondays (except public holidays)
