Lothar Blitz, born in Augsburg in 1956. Studied music at the Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg and art at the State Institute for Art Education and Crafts in Augsburg. Subject teacher at Tittling secondary school until 2021. Chairman of the Wolfstein Art Association since 2016, winner of the Freyung Grafenau District Culture Prize 2024. His artistic work mainly involves ceramic objects using the build-up technique, high firing and raku technique, vessel design on the turntable, bronzes, but also large sculptures in steel in combination with glass, ceramics or stone, as well as assemblages with found objects. The focus of his creative intensity is the metaphorical reflection of human behaviour in situational moments of life such as in a team, in cohesion, partnership, family, as well as being on the road to new, unknown horizons, but also the encounter with the uncertainty and drama of our human existence.
