Since completing her art studies in 2005, Passau-born Stefanie Grünberger has been working as a freelance artist, initially in Regensburg and since 2013 in the district of Freyung-Grafenau. In addition to her diverse art education projects, painting is at the centre of her artistic work.
The painter works in the figurative visual field and is guided in many ways by the visual stimuli of her surroundings. Her surroundings are the breeding ground and source of inspiration for large-scale sections of nature, some of which utilise expansive views and others zoom in on elements of the visible world. Favourite motifs are repeatedly reinterpreted and transformed in numerous variations: Water surfaces, dandelions, landscapes or even forgotten objects from times gone by. There is a personal connection to all pictorial objects, which is important in the process of painting. The colourfulness of the painting, which usually contains a broad spectrum of green tones, is intended to place the viewer in the midst of the experience of nature.
