All the time in the world
From the big bang to prehistoric times

Time determines our lives. Almost all of us are guided by the clock day in, day out - by deadlines and schedules. We take for granted how days, weeks, months and years pass - and realise that our own lifetime is limited. Time is therefore something very commonplace, something that affects us all directly and yet is difficult or impossible for us to understand and explain.
How does a living being know when it should sleep or when it is time to look for a partner? How does time tick in genes, in rocks, under tree bark, in mussel shells and snail shells? And in all the cells of our body? And even more comprehensively: when did time and space begin and why can we only look back almost as far as the beginning?
In the special exhibition "All the time in the world", we address these questions and the multifaceted topic of "time".
The Prehistoric World Museum in Bayreuth is showing the exhibition at the same time as the Naturkundemuseum Bamberg (Natural History Museum Bamberg). While the Bamberg exhibition focusses on rocks and geology, the Bayreuth exhibition focuses on the living world and evolution.
