Bavarian State Exhibition 2026: Music in Bavaria
25.04.2026 - 08.11.2026 ,
Tonyversum
The Bavarian State Exhibition “Music in Bavaria”, running from 25 April to 8 November 2026 at the TonYversum in Freyung, is a festival of Bavarian sounds, rhythms and melodies. It’s a real treat for the ears! From the sound of a drop of water to chorales, courtly operas and the traditions of folk music, right through to contemporary pop, rock, rap and techno.
A spectacular start right from the outset: at the Cineplex, you’ll be drawn into the exhibition by a powerful, captivating film. Then the spectacle continues – followed by an immersive musical journey from the Middle Ages to the present day. Together with visitors, we set out in search of clues: what is typically Bavarian, and what does Bavaria contribute to the world of music? With numerous multimedia and interactive stations and impressively staged, the state exhibition offers an experience for all the senses.
Live music is part of the experience: on all 199 days of the exhibition, concerts, performances and events will take place in and around Freyung on numerous different stages, in pubs, on market squares, in churches and in forest clearings. There will be rocking and jamming, yodelling and swinging, dancing and singing.
