On a journey through the remotest corners of Franconia, photographer Walther Appelt has spent the last few years visiting the last remaining authentic Franconian pubs and corner shops. Here, time moves at a different pace. More slowly. The photographs do not show hidden gems or top picks, but rather perfectly ordinary shops and pubs – and yet they are very special: they are Franconian.
