Stoneware from Raeren and the Rhineland was an essential part of many households from the 15th century onwards. As utilitarian tableware, it can therefore be found in numerous Dutch paintings from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, in particular by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Jan Steen and others. The juxtaposition of the two art forms provides a lively insight into the world of this stoneware. It forms the theme of the special exhibition, which was conceived by the Pottery Museum in Raeren and could already be seen there in 2022.
