To mark the 80th birthday of the sculptor and painter Hubert Lang, a special exhibition entitled “ITALY” is being held at the Staffelseemuseum.
On display are recent reverse-glass paintings featuring Italian motifs, as well as several interpretations of works by the “Blauer Reiter” group and older reverse-glass paintings from his private collection.
Hubert Lang, who moved from Oberammergau to Riegel a. K. in 2014, has been devoting himself for five decades to reverse-glass painting, a technique that is now rarely practised.
His love for Italy was kindled as early as his youth. After completing his studies, he moved to the small village of Montechiaro in Tuscany in 1977, where he developed his own style of painting.
