The touring exhibition "Mühlenerlebnis Mittelfranken" will be making a stop at the Zirndorf Municipal Museum from 1 May, making it the first stop in the district of Fürth to open its doors to visitors. Under the motto "Historic mills: Rediscover the old!", the exhibition provides exciting insights into this traditional craft and offers answers to questions such as: How did millers work in the past? What significance did mills along the Tauber, Wörnitz, Sulzach and Altmühl rivers have for the region's economy? And why did so many mills disappear over the course of time? Six exhibition towers present impressive, partly historical photographs of remaining and vanished mills. The exhibition is complemented by the history of the former Zirndorf mill and a special selection of Zirndorf-made toys on the subject. The exhibition is a LEADER co-operation project of the local action groups Region an der Romantischen Straße e.V., Aischgrund e.V. and the LEADER region Landkreis Fürth e.V. - made possible by European funding, Bavarian state funding and the participating groups' own funds.
