Inspired by growing and becoming, meandering structures and the rhythm of nature, Alois Achatz and Renate Höning have developed different visual languages and techniques in their latest work cycles, which they will present in an extensive double show entitled "Gewachsenes" (Grown Things) at the Städtische Galerie Cordonhaus Cham, from 19 March to 7 May 2023.

With the technique of heliogravure, the sculptor, graphic artist and object artist Alois Achatz (*1964 Kaikenried) has found a medium to add another level to the process of photography by printing previously etched copper plates. Especially the sensitive gradations of different shades of grey and the recognisable surface structure of the paper give the static objects in the picture a lively expression.

Renate Höning (*1958 Kötzting) is one of those artists who sewed, embroidered and crocheted her works long before the current rediscovery of textile art - without, however, submitting to the common practice of these techniques. As early as 2011, a catlogue article on her work was titled "Punk" in needlework.
