Horst Preibisch

With this exhibition, the Stadtmuseum would like to congratulate a very special person on his 90th birthday, who has lovingly accompanied and portrayed Waldkraiburg (Museum Waldkraiburg) in his pictures like no other over the years. With great skill and an unerring eye, he always finds new visual axes and unseen perspectives in the town, while always remaining close to his subjects.

But Horst Preibisch is not only known to the people of Waldkraiburg for his watercolour views of the town. He also finds numerous motifs on his travels and hikes in the Alps, which he captures in calm, precisely observed watercolours. His use of light is usually restrained, although sometimes intense in colour, without dominating through expressive exaggeration. His pictures thus show a relaxed world that is simply there and whose beauty is there to be discovered.
