Winter - a time of snowflakes, frozen puddles and lakes. Was it just cold, dark, scary and hostile? Or was it a time of snowy fun, warming stoves and candlelight?

The special exhibition shows many facets of how winter was experienced in Freising. The objects on display range from a horse-drawn sleigh to the "snow of yesteryear" captured in paintings and prints, from film documentation of the fun of snow on the Schafhof farm to a modern installation that makes the otherwise almost silent melting of the ice audible.
