To mark the 150th anniversary of his birth, the Erlangen City Museum is dedicating an exhibition to Adolf Schinnerer (1876–1949), a painter, graphic artist, illustrator and art writer who was born and raised in Franconia. From 1904 to 1910, Schinnerer lived and worked in Tennenlohe and was, at that time, one of the most significant artists in the Erlangen region.
On display is a representative selection from his extensive body of work, including views of Franconia and Tennenlohe. The more than one hundred paintings and prints, most of which come from private family collections, are for the most part being shown in Erlangen for the first time.
