With the exhibition “Holz macht Sachen!”, the Stadtgalerie Altötting opens its doors to a poetic journey through forest landscapes, human history and the power of imagination. More than 50 precious items on loan from museums, institutions and private collections tell the story of the ancient, intimate connection between humans and trees – a relationship that has shaped our culture and seems more relevant today than ever.
There is a particular focus on sensory learning and experience. Our varied programme of events is aimed at curious visitors, families and school groups.
“Holz macht Sachen!” is aimed at curious visitors of all ages and demonstrates that wood is far more than just a material: it is a bearer of culture, a habitat and a source of inspiration all at once.
