The Mensenkamp game collection has been housed in the Deutsches Spielearchiv Nürnberg (German Games Archive Nuremberg) since 2021 and is now being presented for the first time in a special exhibition at the Spielzeugmuseum. On display are numerous extraordinary treasures of toy culture, ranging from the Industrial Revolution to the Second World War. These include splendidly illustrated, thematically exciting and unique testimonies to cultural change and human endeavour.
A colourful cornucopia of dice games, games of skill, question-and-answer games and much more is waiting to be discovered. A series of stations is dedicated to various topics relating to games: precious game materials and special production techniques, graphic influences and artistic inspirations, travelling and mobility, game culture in society.

The tour through the exhibition is repeatedly broken up by playful elements and highlighted objects, so that entertainment is not neglected alongside the information. Good reasons to be fascinated by the Mensenkamp Collection in the Toy Museum - then you will also find out what role an ominous suitcase plays in all of this.
