Six artists from Künstlerkreis Ammersee e.V. dedicate themselves to flower power - the assertiveness and thrust of flowers, their resistance, their power of constant return. Martina B'shary, Isabelle Chrétien-Brocker, Elke Hack, Marianne Schweigler, Edith Steiner and Eva Zenetti are united in their artistic approach: not imitation of nature, but dissolution of form, combined with a detached, arbitrary application of paint. Nevertheless, the artistic positions are different. They range from gestural, abstract painting and expressive colourfulness to a reduced, almost monochrome colour palette and intuitively guided drawings. The tracing of the becoming and passing of the plants, their before, their being and their having been, takes place on the one hand through the recollection of important art historical models during the painting process, and on the other hand through analogies in mythology. Completely different pictorial objects were created by incorporating prefabricated objects or natural plant parts into the process of creating art, or by handling the idiosyncratic material wax, which was reshaped and manipulated.
