As a small special exhibition, the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum (Bavarian National Museum) in Lustheim Castle is presenting an exciting new acquisition: a Meissen "Tête à-tête", a coffee and tea service for two, painted with scenes from the tragic love story in Goethe's epistolary novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther". Published in 1774 and in a revised version in 1787, the work made the author famous and triggered a veritable Werther fever.
