What was life really like in the Roman Empire? This question is at the heart of the special exhibition “Dining with the Romans” at the Museum SchichtWerk.
The exhibition offers insights into the food and drink culture of antiquity.
Visitors can look forward to a sensory journey through flavours and intriguing ingredients that reflect the daily life, trade and social life of the Romans.
The accompanying programme, featuring workshops and talks, invites visitors to get involved and experience history first-hand. Interactive hands-on stations bring the exhibition to life and offer an accessible introduction to a subject that still influences us today; after all, our region was part of the Roman Empire for almost 500 years.
The special exhibition combines scientifically sound content with vivid and entertaining presentation. Thanks to the kind support of the Kempten Cultural Office and Sonthofen Grammar School, this project has been realised.
Anyone wishing to experience history in a different way – namely with all their senses – should not miss this exhibition. Because here, history tastes good!
