Transformation - Change

Within the annual theme of urban-rural change at Schafhof 2025, the exhibition Transformation focuses on the theme of change. With their different perspectives on the subject, the contemporary artists sensitise us to the constant changes in the environment, everyday life and society.

This also takes place in the form of personal encounters and the works of art shown later as part of the residency programme: The artists change as a result of their experiences in a new environment and culture, they bring new things to the residency location as guests, bring new impressions and experiences home with them and convey these in their artworks. The general public can share these impressions in the exhibition.

Annual exhibition European Residency Programme 2025

The aim of the European Art Scholarship Programme of the District of Upper Bavaria is to strengthen cultural relations between European countries through an art partnership and to enrich the regional and Upper Bavarian cultural scene. The exhibition with works by the participating scholarship holders from the partner countries and from Upper Bavaria offers the public an insight into the artistic work from the different cultures.

Every year, the artists from the residency programmes with partner institutions from all over Europe are presented under the title "Focus > Europe". The exhibition "Focus > Europe VI" presents the works of artists who took part in the art exchange programme in 2024.
