Schafhof - Europäisches Künstlerhaus Oberbayern (Schafhof - European House of Artists Upper Bavaria)
The artist duo is creating a new light art project in the Kunstforum's sculpture garden. Objects and documentations of this and other installations are shown in the gallery on the ground floor. Hartung | Trenz had developed the double installation "Coinzidenz" in the barrel vault of the Schafhof and in the nave of the Freising Cathedral for one week as part of the Zamma Festival 2015 in Freising, which met with great public enthusiasm.
"For almost 20 years, the artist duo Hartung Trenz has been dealing with the relationship between word and image, the two most important visual ways of interpreting and archiving perception. The basic idea of their work is to deprive the word of its serious, authoritarian readability by attaching it to surface and space and to give it back its original poetic connotative capacity. The word images become image-text spaces that correspond with the real three-dimensional spaces onto which they are projected. Hartung Trenz's works experiment with the interplay of linguistic consciousness and pictorial association, the capacity of word and image to interpret and create the world".
