Alexis Dworsky: Mrgari - geo_digital stone flowers

Alexis Dworsky is an internationally renowned artist from Freising whose projects appeal to and inspire a wide audience with technical know-how, precise powers of observation and a great deal of humour. His latest work draws on this diversity and is also part of the multi-year international project Gardening of Soul under the project management of the University of Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic), in which the Schafhof is also participating.
The exhibition "Mrgari - geo_digital stone flowers" in the gallery on the ground floor of the Art Forum consists of a combination of different media, 3D printing, photo, video, computer animation and text: On the Croatian coast you can find numerous old dry stone walls. On the island of Krk, they grew into striking stone "blossoms", so-called mrgari, where sheep were kept. Alexis Dworsky uses digital technologies, including the artificial intelligence Stable Diffusion, to document, conserve and (re)construct these structures, but also to transform them artistically and spin them further...
