The Munich painter Tanja Mohr (born 1968) creates imaginary landscapes that she constantly reinvents.
She always defines the pictorial space with an above and below, creating subtle colour transitions that are reminiscent of the sfumato of landscape painting from past centuries. Her colours blur, become more concrete and then disappear again. But she also creates sky structures that are reminiscent of 18th century figurative ceiling frescoes, which are presented in the form of bozzetti in the Baroque Gallery in the Schaezlerpalais. Tanja Mohr transforms the fleetingness and openness of the baroque bozzetti into the medium of unbounded colour.
