Mum : Last chance

Heide Wagner (born 1944) and Susanne Wagner (born 1977), mother and daughter, two sculptors from two generations, are exhibiting together in the Rathausgalerien (City Hall Galleries). MAMMA, among other things the medical term for the female breast, opens up a wide range of associations as the title of the exhibition.
Susanne Wagner's installation transforms the Rathausgalerien (City Hall Galleries) into a garden of paradise. Over 700 fruits, cast in plaster and painted, fill the fountain like a giant fruit bowl and spill out into the room.
Heide Wagner is showing sculptures from the last three decades, figurative works in plaster modelled on people and animals. Susanne Wagner has created new works for the exhibition which, in their materiality and fragility, relate to the works of her mother and at the same time have a great deal of independence and deal with the role of women, the female body and its attributions.
