The Oberammergau Museum is dedicating an exhibition to Lisa Kreitmeir, theatre tailor, hut owner and self-taught painter, to mark her 90th birthday. "Lisa Kreitmeir (1935-2008) - Painting Village Life" tells the story of her home in Oberammergau, the region and her travels. In her colourful works, she became a chronicler of historical events, family stories and customs as well as her own life. Over 100 works by the painter can be seen and discovered together for the first time in this major retrospective. They present an extremely talented, communicative and self-confident woman who realised her own artistic path very successfully in her time without any academic training.
