In classical rhetoric, pathos has been recognised since Aristotle as one of the three means of persuasion in speech by making an emotional appeal to the audience. Since this first systematic definition, the word has undergone many changes in meaning. The artists follow on from this in the exhibition with their individual interpretations and realisations - most of the contributions were created for the exhibition.
This year's special contribution to the exhibition is by the artist and poet Stefan Wehmeier and provides a brief overview of his work. His focus is on painting, drawing, printmaking and works with ceramic materials.
