The Museum Werdenfels (Werdenfels Regional Museum) was opened in 1925, since then it has grown, expanded, moved and is now a crystallisation point for the interface between tradition and today.

The nucleus of the collection was a "sample and antique collection" of around 300 pieces, which had been built up by the "Partenkirchen Technical School for Woodcarving" since 1895. Today, the collection has grown to well over 10,000 objects. We are therefore celebrating the 100th anniversary with a unique exhibition of traditional costumes, in which 100 objects: Historical garments, jewellery, belts and shoes - will be set up in a large installation. Contemporary artists will transform rooms or interpret individual exhibits. The focus is on the history(ies) and meaning of the objects, their sensory perception beyond mere explanation. The whole house becomes a space of knowledge and a place of living experience for the marvelling visitors.
