At the exhibition "Alles im Kasten - Fledermausschutz im Ebersberger Forst" (Everything in the Box - Bat Protection in Ebersberg Forest), photojournalist Viktoria Pezzei shows the hidden world of bats in Ebersberg Forest and the people who work to protect them. In the largest contiguous piece of forest in the greater Munich area, the species protection project "1,000 bat boxes for the forest" has been running since 2009. Once a year, volunteers swarm out to check the use of the bat boxes and clean them if necessary.

Viktoria Pezzei accompanied the volunteers for a summer while they checked the bat boxes in the Ebersberg forest and documented their work photographically. The resulting visual language tells the story of how local species protection is possible and highlights the essential work of the people involved. With additional information on the species conservation project, visitors to the photo exhibition will gain an exclusive insight into the conservation of local bat diversity.
