The dementia course organised by Hands-on Dementia takes you through an ordinary day. Participants will experience their own limits, feel discomfort and experience their own incapacity.
Hands-on Dementia lets us take part in Erna Müller's life for a day. Let yourself be "confused" in everyday situations and pushed to your limits. This leads to negative feelings, just as it does for people with dementia on any given day.
By experiencing your own intense emotions, you will develop a better understanding of those affected.
Erna Müller and the course of the obstacle course:
Each station is introduced by a fictitious story from Erna Müller's life. Her illness repeatedly pushes her to her limits in everyday situations. She feels anger and frustration. Erna Müller's everyday situations are acted out at the stations and made tangible for people without dementia by means of built-in handicaps.
