The Museum Starnberger See (Museum Lake Starnberg) is dedicating a museum retrospective to Stefan Moritz Becker's life and work. It provides a first insight into his extensive estate. The starting point for the work of the artist, who saw himself as a painter and yet moved freely between materials and possibilities, was always light. Painting and light also characterise the exhibition.

Growing up in Starnberg, Stefan Moritz Becker's artistic development led him via Munich and Berlin to New York. A few years before the early end of his life, he returned to Starnberg. The exhibition was organised in close collaboration with the artist's family and friends. It is accompanied by the organisation Kunst Vor- und Nachlässe vom Berufsverband bildender Künstler*innen München und Oberbayern.
