In the SPUR Museum, the former poorhouse, the well-known anti-war film The Bridge by director Bernhard Wicki from 1959 is the subject of a small exhibition. The listed building of the poorhouse was at the centre of the action at the time and can be seen several times in the film. For this reason, a room on the ground floor of the museum is dedicated to this special chapter in Cham's history.
Numerous photographs document the work of director Bernhard Wicki and his team. Many a scene that cannot be seen in the final version of the film has at least been preserved in the snapshots taken by photographers.
The two dioramas on display are a real eye-catcher. Udo Uecker created a model depicting the area between the beer gate and the old Florian Geyer Bridge during filming. The second model is by Swen Richert and shows the final scene of the film on a scale of 1:48.
