Friedrich Wilhelm Doppelmayr was a district court assessor in Rosenheim from 1808. On his wanderings through the court of Rosenheim, he produced numerous study sheets with views of Rosenheim, the Inn valley and the western Chiemgau. Early on he devoted himself to the new technique of lithography. Around 1815, he produced a series of six important, extremely rare lithographic views of Lake Chiemsee, which have now been available in their entirety in the art collection of the market town of Prien since 2022.
