At the crater's rim
Views of Swabian-Franconian villages by Albert Meyer-Gröbenzell
24.04.2026 - 07.02.2027 ,
Museum KulturLand Ries (Museum KulturLand Ries)
Time and again, his family connections led Albert Meyer (1881–1948), a native of Munich who had made Gröbenzell his home, to the crater rim and the foothills of the Nördlinger Ries. Over a period of more than 30 years, he created more than 70 views of local scenes using various drawing, painting and printmaking techniques – visual records of the border region between Bavarian Swabia and Middle Franconia. For the first time, the exhibition brings together motifs from between Hesselberg and Harburg, Wörnitz and Wemding, drawn from Albert Meyer’s oeuvre comprising more than 680 works.
A catalogue of the same name, limited to 500 copies, is being published to accompany the exhibition (€16.00).
