Turns of vision - Mutsuo Hirano and Thomas Lange

Paintings and ceramic sculptures by Mustsuo Hirano and Thomas Lange

01.04.2025 - 31.10.2025 ,
Museum Karlstadt

The Museum Karlstadt invites you to the extraordinary special exhibition Sichtwendungen (Turns of View), in which the artists Mutsuo Hirano and Thomas Lange open up new perspectives with their works. Their paintings and sculptures challenge us to question our usual ways of seeing things and to embark on an artistic journey between past and present.
Lange and Hirano, who spend parts of the year in Umbria (Italy), reveal in their works an intensive examination of the great masters of art history: Pontormo, Caravaggio, Donatello, Dürer and Luca Giordano are sources of inspiration with which they enter into a pictorial dialogue.
While Thomas Lange combines classical painting with expressive colourfulness, Mutsuo Hirano shows sculptural works in bright white ceramic. Both artists are united in their search for a deeper, spiritual dimension in art and in life.
Look forward to a fascinating art experience from 1 April to 31 October 2025, daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
