With "Teddy conquers Friedberg", the Museum im Wittelsbacher Schloss is presenting an impressive teddy collection from Dresden's private collection from 13 December 2024 to 9 March 2025.
Since its invention around 120 years ago, the teddy bear's triumphal march began; since then, it has become a faithful companion for millions of people. This multifaceted exhibition sheds light on the history of the teddy bear as well as the production of this popular toy.
The fascination with the cuddly toy is also reflected in literature, film and art. The special attraction of the presentation lies in the lovingly designed large teddy scenes. Accompany Teddy on his journey and find out for yourself what touching stories some teddies have to tell about themselves.
Thanks to the co-operation with Friedberg schools, exciting teddy projects have been created to enrich the exhibition.
Outside the museum rooms, the exhibition is virtual: under #teddyerobertfriedberg, visitors are invited to discover Friedberg with their own teddy bears and share their experiences with others on Intagram.
The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive programme of guided tours, workshops, a visit to the Teddy Clinic and various children's events.
