WesenArt – Encountering our tiny fellow creatures

What happens to us when we lose not only biodiversity, but also its beauty?
In her photographic series ‘WesenArt’, Caroline Neven Du Mont turns her attention to the tiny creatures that often remain hidden from us in everyday life: a fly, a beetle on the edge of a leaf, a grasshopper or a butterfly. Through the lens, they become portraits – individual beings with their own form, character and personality.
The photographs tell of a world that is very real and very close to us. They invite us to look more closely and to perceive our tiny fellow creatures in a new light.
Who does the meadow belong to? Us – or all those creatures that live there?
‘The camera makes me feel truly present,’ says the artist. Her images aim to transport the viewer into a world where observation becomes an encounter, and seeing perhaps turns into compassion.

On display are photographs by Caroline Neven DuMont, who has a very special connection to the town of Schrobenhausen. She is not only a set designer, costume designer and audiobook director, but also the great-granddaughter of the famous ‘prince of painters’ and Schrobenhausen native, Franz von Lenbach.
Admission is free on the opening day.
The gallery will then be open as usual on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The exhibition runs until Saturday 21 November 26.
