Concrete art - Dutch artist, architect and theorist Theo van Doesburg (1883-1931) supposedly first coined this term in 1924 and used it for his own works.

100 years later, this unofficial anniversary provides a suitable opportunity to question today's generation of young artists, in detail about their relationship to Concrete Art. What influence do its beginnings have on their own creative work? Are the concept of Concrete Art and its principles still relevant?

The Museum für Konkrete Kunst in Ingolstadt and the Museum im Kulturspeicher Würzburg (Museum in the Culture Granary Würzburg) have invited a total of 24 artists from Germany and abroad born from 1980 onwards to provide detailed information about their relationship to Concrete Art. The works on display demonstrate how unchanged, contemporary and changeable the over 100-year-old principles are today.
