Ulrike von Quast's artistic focus is mainly on graphic works and prints. At the same time, she creates sculptures in ceramic and wax. For her, her work is an attempt to reassure herself of her own person and her own existence. A way of thinking about the world and questioning the order of the world around us.
How can we locate ourselves in it and yet are confronted with its inherent laws and complexity?
The works often refer to current events. For example, the first works in the series Gewissheiten were created during the week of the attack on Ukraine. Other works in the exhibition thematise the relationship between man and nature. Transience, but also self-preservation and the regenerative powers of nature are increasingly coming into focus - and thus also their endangerment.
