A fleeting space opens up between image and reality - unstable, shimmering, deceptive. It is precisely this space that Betty Mü focusses on. She investigates what happens to perception when it strays from its usual path. Distortions, optical illusions, light reflections and digital fragmentation destabilise the visual process - and create space for a different, deeper attention.

The exhibition thematises the fragility of perception. Detailed excerpts from Videostils, interactive works, lenticular prints and video mapping sculptures challenge familiar ways of seeing. What initially appears recognisable disintegrates in the next moment. Reality becomes slippery. The senses lose their usual certainty - and begin to question.
This uncertainty is not understood as a disturbance, but as a revelation. The friction creates a liminal state in which the visible becomes permeable - for the invisible and the unconscious.

The work does not provide answers. It aims to create states: irritation, distortion, reflection. Between light and surface, between pixel and surface, the possibility of transformation arises - not only of the images, but also of the viewer.

Betty Mü is considered one of the most sought-after German media artists. A crossover artist, she builds bridges between digital and analogue forms of expression and playfully integrates techniques such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality.
Born and raised in Munich, Betty Mü moved to New York in 1995, where she worked as an art director, took courses at the University and the School of Visual Arts and experimented with Super 8 and video. Returning to Munich in the early 2000s, she built on her experience as a live visualiser and began creating video installations.
