On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the Seerosenkreis is showing current works by its members and the most recent Seerosen award winners above the rooftops of the city.

The Association of Visual Artists was founded in 1948 in the Schwabing "Seerose", the legendary meeting place of those artists who had survived the war and the ostracism by the Nazi regime. To this day, the Seerosenkreis symbolises an important piece of Munich's post-war culture and, as a Schwabing institution, is also known far beyond the city limits thanks to the annual Seerosenpreis awarded by the city. The works of the 2023 Water Lily Award winners can be admired from 4 to 20 August 2023 in the neighbouring Art Pavilion in the Botanical Garden.
