At Home. An interactive family exhibition
20.07.2026 - 25.04.2027 ,
MEWO Kunsthalle (MEWO Art Gallery)
This interactive family exhibition for explorers of all ages invites visitors to explore the theme of ‘home’ in a playful and creative way.
What does it actually mean to be ‘at home’? Is it an address with a house number, the familiar creak of a door, or a feeling in our minds that we can take with us wherever we go?
A home is not a finished place. It is a lifelong experiment – a tapestry of security, change and the traces we leave behind in the world.
The exhibition guides visitors through four rooms. Each room poses a big, philosophical question that children and adults reflect on in very different ways:
Home as a feeling – What gives us all a sense of stability when the world outside becomes noisy and uncertain? In this room, we ask ourselves what comfort tastes like, what home sounds like, and why seemingly insignificant things often mean more to us than all the money in the world.
Home as a place – Do we shape our spaces, or do our spaces shape us? We explore how the walls and furniture that surround us quietly shape who we are.
Home in danger – What happens when the world around us changes? This room poses the painful question of fragility: What remains of us when the foundations shake and we have to let go of the familiar?
A house only becomes a home when we begin to make it our own.
Join us in searching for clues, ask yourselves questions, help build – and leave your own mark.
