The Allgäu Ice Age Safari offers a glimpse into the time between around 15,000 and 30,000 years ago, when herds of mammoths and woolly rhinos still roamed our landscape, cave lions were among the most dangerous predators and giant deer impressed even wolves with their antlers. What did the Allgäu look like back then? Which animals colonised our region and what traces of the Ice Age still exist today? Not only the fascinating flora and fauna, but also the everyday life of the people of that time is waiting to be discovered. Lifelike animal reconstructions, skeletons and specimens make a visit to the exhibition a special experience.
