The exhibition focuses on the Kissinger family with their Fürth roots and their moving fate and traces the Kissingers' path since the beginning of the 20th century on around 120 square metres. It spans the arc from the happy childhood of the two brothers Henry and Walter in Fürth, through the bitter loss of their home under National Socialism and their new start in the USA, to the remarkable careers of the two men in science, politics and business, as well as their repeated return to their home town since the 1950s. On display are previously unknown testimonies - especially from Fürth's city history - but also unique artefacts and touching private exhibits, such as some personal objects that the family was able to take with them on their escape to the USA and which are now kept as special mementos by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, the family's everyday objects, audio documents, photographs and documents tell a captivating story and invite visitors to get to know the man, politician and world leader Henry Kissinger from a completely new perspective and to experience him in interaction with his closest family.
